There’s a word that keeps coming back to me every time I look at my catalog, reflect on my journey, and consider the next chapter of my legacy—Prolific. Not as a compliment. Not as a label. But as a fact backed by an undeniable, irrefutable body of work spanning decades. While others talk about being consistent, I’ve lived it. I’ve survived it. I’ve proved it.

I didn’t get here by accident. My path has been anything but easy. I’ve had to climb out of darkness many times—wrongful imprisonment, betrayal, displacement, losses that no man should ever have to endure. And yet, through the pressure, through the pain, I never stopped creating. Never stopped writing. Never stopped building. Never stopped producing. Even when the world turned its back, even when the system did me dirty, I held onto what God put inside me: the gift to create timeless music.

My Grandmother, Marie Carter-Gallego and I, in my first Studio, circa 1997.

I’ve seen highs most dream about and lows that would’ve broken most men. I’ve walked through fire that had nothing to do with the music business and still came out swinging—with instruments in hand, compositions in mind, and stories to tell. That’s what separates me from the talkers, the copycats, the industry clout-chasers. This ain’t no gimmick. This is soul work.

Let’s make one thing clear: the people who talk about the music industry being in a “slump”—they’re not creators. They’ve never been. They’re analysts, spectators, or one-hit tourists. Because true creators don’t slump—we evolve, we grow, we innovate. A slump doesn’t exist when you’re tapped into the source and walking with purpose. The truth is: they’re not creating. Or what they’re making just isn’t good. That’s why it’s quiet for them.

A hot song doesn’t make you prolific. A viral moment doesn’t make you legendary. Some of these so-called “stars” got a moment… and that’s it. They burn out because they were never built for the continuum. They weren’t made to go the distance. And/Or they sold themselves into unsavory situations. Me? I’ve been here for over three decades, and I still haven’t even scratched the surface of what I’ve got in the vault.

While others were chasing likes, I was building legacy. While they were fading, I was forming foundations. And now, my forward trajectory is unstoppable. My upcoming releases—songs I wrote, arranged, composed, performed, engineered and produced myself—are proof. Not talk. Not hype. Proof. We are ICONIC.

And for the record, yes—I ghostwrote hit records in the early 2000s that shook the game. I got cheated. My name was left off papers, plaques, and payouts. But I’m still here. And they’re not. That part matters.

Now, with full ownership, creative control, and a 1,000-song catalog ready to impact the world, I’m no longer waiting for permission. I am the wave. I am the algorithm. I am the blueprint for longevity and excellence in this business.

So while they’re sitting around debating who’s hot and who’s not—I’m working. I’m creating. I’m building. I’m defining what it means to be Prolific.
